I’m a classically trained trumpet player and would like to know if the “brass player’s/trumpet” mouthpiece uses the traditional embouchure lip buzzing method.

The NuEVI does not use a embouchure lip buzz method. It has a breath sensor that detects breath amount (blowing into the mouthpiece). The standard mouthpiece (rubber type that is inserted into your mouth) has 3 sensors. Breath/Bite/Lip touch. This is the most expressive method for sound control. For some players, they prefer a more familiar feel. For this, there is an alternative replacement traditional mouthpiece (where it is blown into, but still not lip buzzing). Though it may offer a more familiar feel, you will loose the bite and lip touch sensor.
