How long can my USB cable be?

I'm wondering if there is a max length my USB cable can be when connecting to my Berglund Instrument.

I’ve never had issues that I could narrow down to the length of the cable, only to bad quality. There is a limit to USB cable length without some kind of booster, and that’s 5 meters. I don’t think I’ve ever used longer than 3 meter USB cables for the NuEVI or NuRAD, though.
